The habit loop

How HomeworkStreak builds study habits

The app uses a proven habit loop — cue, routine, reward — to make daily homework check-ins automatic within a few weeks.

Step 01
📱

Open the app

The streak counter and XP bar create an immediate cue — "I need to do my homework to keep this alive."

Step 02
📝

Log homework

Tap to add today's assignments. Subjects are pre-loaded, entry takes 10 seconds. No friction, no excuses.

Step 03

Complete & check off

Tick each task as it's done. Each check earns XP and inches the streak forward. The dopamine is real.

Step 04
🔥

Streak grows

The visible streak number becomes the reward that makes students come back tomorrow. And the day after.

Stay involved without hovering

Middle school is the age where parents need to walk a careful line — involved enough to keep things on track, hands-off enough for kids to develop independence. HomeworkStreak's parent dashboard gives you perfect visibility without micromanaging.

  • See all tasks, streaks, and upcoming deadlines from one screen
  • SMS when all daily homework is done — no more asking
  • Alert if something important is at risk of being missed
  • Weekly email digest every Sunday before the new week starts
  • Works alongside school portals — not a replacement, a complement

★★★★★

"My son is in Year 9 and I was sceptical an app would make any difference. I was completely wrong. He opens it himself, he tracks everything, and for the first time homework is just... done. No drama."

"We started both kids (Year 5 and Year 8) at the same time. Both are more organised than they've ever been. The Year 5 one especially — she just needed a visual tool to work with."

Middle school FAQ

HomeworkStreak is designed for students in Years 5–12 across all Australian states. The homework tracker and streak system work at any level, and the study planner scales up as homework loads increase from Year 5 through to Year 12.
Completely. HomeworkStreak has zero advertising, and no ability to be contacted by or interact with strangers. Friend connections are opt-in and only visible between mutually connected accounts. Student data is stored in Australian data centres and never shared with third parties. It's designed from the ground up to be safe for kids.
Students can use HomeworkStreak completely independently. The parent dashboard is optional — students connect parents using a join code, and they control whether to share access. For younger students (Year 5–7) many families choose to set up the parent dashboard from the start; for older students it's often their own choice.
The XP and streaks are designed to motivate the act of studying, not replace it. You only earn XP by completing actual homework tasks — so the game mechanics are tied directly to real academic work. The Focus Mode also uses a Pomodoro timer that keeps students studying for a full 25 minutes before any break, minimising distraction during sessions.
